Aqua Force is a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device (PFD) (life preserver). Over a 3 1/2 year period of evaluation by Underwriters Laboratories and testing against stringent Coast Guard Standards, Aqua Force became the first product of its type to receive USCG approval. Aqua Force meets all coverage requirements for a Type III flotation aide. Intended for use in recreation, personal watercraft, and water skiing activities including wake boarding and other tow-behind activities.
My Pool Pal is a swim wear flotation device that gives children more confidence in the water and allows them to relax and learn to swim properly. My Pool Pal is not USCG approved.
- Do I have to wear a life jacket with Aqua Force?
No, Aqua Force is a Coast-Guard approved personal flotation device (pfd) and takes the place of a life jacket. Presently, 35 states and/or U.S. territories require that children who participate in boating activities wear Coast Guard-approved life jackets.
- Do children become dependent on the suits?
No, children do not become dependent on My Pool Pal and Aqua Force. Both suits are non-restrictive and give children a natural feeling in the water so they can learn to swim and become better swimmers.
- Will young children be able to swim immediately when they puts on the suit?
The suits are carefully designed to enhance and not interfere with proper swimming techniques, which gives swimmers the freedom to progress at their own pace. The level of performance may depend on the child's age, ability, personality and environment. Small children who weigh 20 - 25 pounds may require hands on supervision until they have developed sufficient coordination or proper weight distribution to allow stability in the water.
- Can the flotation inserts be removed from the suits?
No, if the flotation inserts were removed parents and guardians would have a false sense of their children's' security. We also believe that removing the inserts prolongs a child's process of learning to swim because it throws off his/her balance each time an additional insert is taken out of the suit. Therefore, the foam inserts are securely sewn into the suits.
- Are My Pool Pal Swim-sters supposed to be worn under regular swimsuits?
Yes, our Swim-sters swim diapers replace children's disposable and cloth diapers with a product specifically designed for use during water sports and activities. Our products feature elasticized legs and waist openings that fit snugly on children's bodies, and are more effective when worn underneath children's regular swimsuits. The products are made from a nylon and lycra blend with a specially laminated liner.
- Can the Swim-ster be worn alone?
Yes. Although My Pool Pal swim diapers are used correctly when worn under a swimsuit. (If worn alone they are not as effective.
